What this service is

PotterySuppliesHQ is an independent comparison site. We publish prices that pottery suppliers print on their own product pages, quoted verbatim with the date they were read. We are not a supplier, we sell no clay, glaze or equipment, and we hold no stock.

How we are paid

Suppliers may pay us a commission when you buy through a link on this site. That never changes a printed figure, the order of the table or whether a supplier appears: the ranking is the price the supplier published, and a supplier that pays nothing is listed on the same terms as one that does.

About the price index

Every figure in the index is quoted verbatim from the supplier's own product page, re-fetched and matched word for word before publication, with the retrieval date and a hash of the page text stored beside it. Prices are per kilogram and exclude VAT, converted from the bag size the page itself states, because these suppliers print different units for the same product. Where a supplier prints no bag price at all, the cell records that fact rather than an estimate.

No warranty

The index reports what suppliers published on the dates shown. Clay prices move with clay, energy and haulage costs and with each supplier's own quantity ladder, and a figure here is evidence of what a page said when it was read rather than a guarantee of what you will be charged today. Always check the supplier's own page before ordering, and check the carriage separately: it is excluded from every price in this index and on a heavy order it is frequently the larger number. If a figure here is stale, send the page and it will be re-fetched.
